Servers abroad are public Amazon Web Services endpoints. Results depend on your ISP, Wi-Fi and current network load; run the test a few times for a fair picture.

What is BDIX and why latency matters

BDIX (Bangladesh Internet Exchange) connects Bangladeshi internet providers so traffic between them stays inside the country. When your website is hosted on a BDIX-connected server in Dhaka, a visitor on a local ISP reaches it without travelling through international submarine cables.

Latency is the time a request takes to go to the server and back. A web page needs dozens of these round trips for HTML, styles, scripts, images and API calls, so a server 60 ms away feels much slower than one 10 ms away, even on the same internet speed.

BDIX Ping Test FAQ

It times HTTP requests from your browser to a server in Dhaka and to servers abroad, and shows the median round-trip time in milliseconds. The first request to each server is ignored because it also includes DNS and secure-connection setup.
